Meet Crescent Clay
Crescent Clay LLC was founded in 2018 as a collaboration between Olivia Ferrer and Jess Port. The partnership grew with the hopes of fostering a love of ceramic art in others. Today, Olivia continues this journey in Northern Virginia where she works a full-time job fundraising for the arts and continues the work of connecting people through Crescent Clay. Olivia was drawn to clay because it is an inherently collaborative medium. From the beginning of time people have used pottery to share food, express their culture, and pass down stories. In fact, the process of making has historically been a communal one. Her work in ceramics spans over 8 years. She makes primarily functional work, and hopes that it plays a role in connecting people and bringing joy. Olivia continues this effort of building community through art in a career as an arts manager.
Jess left Crescent Clay in 2021 to pursue a full time career in ceramic arts in Ohio where she continues to create masterful functional and sculptural works (Find out more: here).
